The “Common Sense for Avcılar: Municipality–University Cooperation Strategy Workshop,” held on Thursday, April 2, between 09:00 and 17:00 at the Ötüken Workshop Hall located in the Kule Block of Istanbul Gelisim University, was successfully completed.
The workshop was organized with the aim of strengthening cooperation between local government and academia, and of developing joint solutions to address the social, economic, and cultural needs of Avcılar. Throughout the day, participants focused on concrete policy and project proposals for the district within the scope of discussions carried out across different thematic groups.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Selda Tunç Subaşı, Director of the Center for Gender Studies Application and Research, moderated Table No. 1 titled “Social Policies for Equality and Rights-Based Solidarity.” The group developed a comprehensive project proposal centered on a perspective of social equality and aimed at empowering disadvantaged groups, which was presented at the end of the workshop.
The workshop concluded with the evaluation of the proposed projects and with wishes to sustain cooperation among the relevant institutions.
